Never having seen Zardoz, I can only guess that it was a smash hit. Who wouldn’t want to see Sean Connery in a diaper again? I say again because he wore hot pants for a good part of Thunderball.

Marie Curie

Marie Curie, pioneer in radiology, discoverer of elements, had some pretty cavalier lab practices. At the time she was doing her research, no one knew how harmful radiation could be to the human body, so she’d carry test tubes with isotopes in her lab coat pocket, and leave them in her desk draw. She also performed x-rays on wounded WWI soldiers without proper shielding. While it stinks that she died as a result of her dedication to researching radioactive material, it’s also pretty rock and roll.
